Overview

The alternating high knee raise is an exercise targeting the abdominal muscles, particularly the rectus abdominis or six-pack muscles. The exercise is performed by lying on the floor with your knees bent and your feet flat on the ground. You then raise your right knee up towards your chest and then lower it back down. You then repeat this motion with your left knee. The exercise is repeated for a specified number of repetitions.
