Overview

The barbell seated alternate leg raise (female) is an exercise targeting the abdominal muscles, particularly the rectus abdominis or six-pack muscles. It is performed by sitting on a bench with a barbell across your lap, then raising one leg up and out to the side while keeping the other leg on the bench. You then lower the raised leg back down and repeat with the other leg. This exercise can be performed for a set number of repetitions or for a set amount of time.
