Overview

The exercise ball bird dog is a dynamic movement focusing on the glutes and the postural muscles of the upper back. When performing it, use an exercise ball that is tall enough to support your chest and core, but short enough to allow your hands and knees to reach the ground. It is slightly easier than a bodyweight bird dog and can work as a regression for that movement. It can be done for time or reps as part of a warm-up, paired with movements in a workout, or as a mobility or recovery exercise.

Variations

Variations of fitness exercises refer to different ways of performing a specific exercise or movement to target various muscle groups, intensities, or goals. These variations aim to challenge the body differently, prevent plateaus, and cater to individuals with varying fitness levels.

Alternatives

Alternative exercises in fitness refer to different movements or activities that target similar muscle groups or serve the same training purpose as the primary exercise. These alternative exercises can be used as substitutes when the original exercise is unavailable or challenging to perform due to various reasons such as equipment limitations, injuries, or personal preferences.
